Valentine’s Bake Sale at NMSU-Grants
As chair and Public Relations officer of this event, I wanted to do something that I believed would be a successful fundraiser for our student government. I decided to plan a Valentine’s Bake sale as well as a raffle sale. ASNMSU-G members/faculty/staff of NMSU donated all baked goodies; all of the raffle prizes with the exception of the 6th prize were donated by several ASNMSU-G members.
As a token of our appreciation, all NMSU-G faculty and staff were sent “free tickets” in their boxes, which they could exchange for something sweet during our bake sale.
Our prizes for the raffle drawing included:
1st Prize: A teddy bear, blank card, chocolates, and two balloons
2nd Prize: A movie gift basket for two
3rd Prize: Gift certificate for the Olive Garden
4th Prize: A movie gift basket for two
5th Prize: Romantic Spa Basket for Her
6th Prize: A doubled-layer chocolate cake
The purpose of this fundraising was to raise money for upcoming events for students to get involved with our campus as well as the community.
The grand total of the raffle/bake sale was $763.64. On behalf of all members of ASNMSU-G, we would like to thank everyone who supported us and made this a successful fundraiser. I will no longer be serving as PR for ASNMSU-G due to my commitments in the Teacher Education Program. All I can say is that I am truly happy that I was a part of such an amazing assembly of individuals and that my term ended with such a rewarding event.
